I tried my first attempt at propagation around 2 months ago with my monstera and it was a slow start, but I’m so proud of how it’s looking now! What do you think?
Something I tried with a tomato side shoot, and it worked beautifully. I put it in compost in a polystyrene cup with holes punched in the bottom and then stood that in a much larger cup. Fill the larger cup with water and the poly one floats, this means you are getting the best of both worlds, it is in water and it is in compost at the same time. Also, because it floats, you can put in loads of water and only have to top it up very occasionally. I don't think it will be in time to get anything off it this year, but I shall certainly be trying it next spring.Lucky you! Whenever I try this, the cutting doesn't root or rot, it just sits there vibin'.![]()
