And now the rock pools

This Dog Whelk was on a mission.

Peacock Worm Tubes, when the tide is in they have arms that filter the plankton.

Limpets return to the same place before the tide goes out.

Awesome shots, zigs! You got to see a lot pretty anemones =D Loved to see the peacock worms, I had hear about them before, but had never actually seen them, not in person at least. Interesting critters!

Love the welk. Not very often have I found one actually alive, and crawling around.

Ta :)

I'll try to find some peacock worms with their fans out, didn't hang around long due to the biting east wind.

Dog whelks can move quite fast for a mollusc :D

You sure do get around, @zigs! Did you collect any seaweed for the garden while you were at it? These pictures make me want to hop into the car and take a drive down to the coast. Will have to start planning something for when it finally starts to warm up!

:pBeautiful pictures, and how do you get to have some sunshine??? I am sooooo jealous. I live near the ocean too and I can't wait unti the weather warms up so I can go explore some sea life. Not only do we have the wind bite, but we have rain and clouds to contend with right now too and I am a bit of a cold weather baby.

Lyme is only a few miles away, didn't collect any seaweed as I was parked up the hill, waiting for a good old storm to blow some in and then i'll drive to a beach where I can put it straight in the back.

Might be Sunny Rosy, but the wind chill makes your face numb in minutes, it's coming straight down from the Arctic
