Just ordered 2 Knockout roses that i plan to put in large pots .

My question is should i add fertilizer this late in the season?

Most new quality potting mixes will have a nutrient charge in them and no need for any fertilizer. I never add fertilizer to a plant going into Winter. I wait until the plant is sprouting new growth and growing in Spring. When I fertilize I just a little too.
