Ivy on my house is dying

There were three ivy plants planted over 25 years ago on the gable end of my house. This year one on the far left has died and I think the rest are on the way out. I was wondering what has most likely caused this and what should I do with the dead plant now?
Also any tips on removing it from the wall without leaving too much stuck on?

I think that they've come to the end of their life. If the wall is sound it should be alright to pull it off, the rest that you can't reach will just shrivel in time.

Welcome to the forum @Eamon . I`m afraid your ivy has a disease - and it will probably go through the rest of it - phytophthora was my first thought, but it could be anthracnose - I`m not sure, and I`m also not sure if it`s reportable ??
If/when you take this away from the wall, please be aware you will NEED to wear a mask. You don`t want to become ill !
