Hi there! We inherited a rhododendron plant from the previous tenant of our flat. Is it dead? It has yet to bloom, and the leaves don't look very healthy. What do you guys think I should do to help it out?
It is far from dead although it does look a little anemic with the yellow leaves. I would give it a healthy dose of nitrogen and iron. How much sunlight does it get?
Thanks for the tip Chuck. Glad to know it can still be rejuvenated, hopefully. It barely gets any direct sunlight, right now maybe a few hours in late afternoon.
Rhododendrons need a fair amount of sunlight to flower (otherwise yours looks far from dead!) I have one in the ground and it's doing fine...do they generally grow OK in containers? Container plants typically need more frequent fertilizing for sure. If you can move it to a sunnier location I'd do that.
