I Love the Morning

I’m watching dawn break out the window at work; it’s still early, no true sun yet. What I wouldn't give to be outside preparing for a day of work growing something. Morning is all about new and fresh, opportunity and potential, it’s a beautiful thing. I love the morning.

It was lovely sunshine here this morning and I've got a day off, so put my coat on to go for a walk and coffee... as soon as I stepped outside it started to rain... Once I got to the coffee shop in town, bright sunshine . Typical!

Thankfully the sunshine kept up for the walk back .

I remember the days when I only saw the sunrise after really long parties and was surprised that anyone would roll out of bed that early unless they had to. Now I see it everyday. Sleeping in is no longer an option. . It's good and then again on a cloudy day I'd rather catch a few extra zzzs.

I love going out to the barn just at dawn--with mist rising from the fields, or the birds waking up and chirping, and smelling the fresh air with overtones of "green". The cattle in the next field are coming out to graze and the rooster across the road is greeting the day. I love the morning. (Now, where did I hear that before?)

Now that I am a little older, I appreciate the morning hours much more than I used to. I love getting up early and listening to the birds outside and breathing in the crisp morning air. I feel like I have wasted a lot of my day if I roll out of bed any later than 8am.

The bird feeder is 60ft from my kitchen window and I just zoom in.

No. It's a female pheasant. We have eleven females and four males that spend a lot of time in our garden.

Nice plumage. Now I see the head looks different than a dove's head.
