There are so many idiotic composting "rules". Everything breaks down, that's how nature works. Compost is not a human invention, nature recycles naturally. We only learned how to use it.

We all go back to dust.

My Sister even puts dead animals in hers but they live well off the road and don't have neighbors.

Will Mushrooms help break down stuff. I have Mushrooms and thought about using them then came to they have salt.

I see salt on anything I run.

Will Mushrooms work?

If your mushrooms are not parasitic like maitaki, then there is nothing wrong with adding them to the compost. Oak leaves are fine to compost, if the plants you will use the compost for can tollerate higher tanin levels.
