Harvesting seeds

Got a delicious papaya at the supermarket and decided I may as well get some seeds. Do I need to pinch then out if the little individuali sacks they are in? Gut tells me yes, but tight I would check before I ruin them.

I've always wanted to grow papaya but my climate is wrong. The following link should be helpful to anyone out there wanting to grow them.

I don't have a perfect climate, but I know some who get away with it. They keep them in pots and take them inside if there is a freeze coming. Have to get the short variety for that I guess. But if i start now I may get fruit next summer.
