The ventilation in my greenhouse is really bad even with a louvres in the back panel. The original window blew away in a storm which has been replaced with a sheet of polycarbonate that is screwed down.

Looking for suggestions for a diy window to fit in the sides or top.

Thanking advance.

Hello friend. The over all placement of the greenhouse looks to me to be in the wrong spot. Having large walls on both sides of the greenhouse will minimize Sun and air flow. You need at least a minimum of 6 to 8 hours for vigorous growth.

Hey thanks for your reply. The front of the greenhouse is south facing so the entire greenhouse gets sun for most of the day and the temperatures get very high.

It really needs some good ventilation after the window blew away, ideally something in the side panels.

Maybe try adding a hinged polycarbonate or acrylic panel on the side or top, so you can open it when needed. You could attach it with a simple frame and a latch, or even use clear plastic sheeting with Velcro for something more flexible.

What I do is use 2 fans on a timer. One blowing in through a screen and the other blowing out through a screen. When it gets hot they run all day. You can set them up in the door way with out using a window.

How about a hinged door in the rear end of the greenhouse. Then on hot days you can prop the front and rear door open to get a through draught. This might also be useful to gain access to any plants at the end e.g. picking tomatoes at the back, which I sometimes find to be very precarious in our greenhouses.
