My greenhouse being built, poly and metal trim will be delivered to the site to finish up, guess the door and windows too. Will be delivered to me on the 16th, i have 4 , 55 gallon black painted drum barrels going in it, their all filled and ready to go, And a bunch of plants set to go in that have been waiting it out in my shelter logic for their permanent home, except for summer to be outside,.There will be a heater in the greenhouse too, more than likely a plug in heater,, this greenhouse is 8 x12.

Don't know where you're located but I found that here in Michigan the water barrels are pretty much useless. If you're in a place that gets lots of sun on the barrels they may work better. Unless you have some other way to heat them up, ambient heat doesn't do much. I'd use that space for something else

I done figured start heating in January. Going to use Propane.

big rockpile
I insulated walls, had double layer plastic, had a 330 gallon water tank, a wood heater, and propane heater. Propane is the only thing I use now. More reliable and a lot easier than wood. Still unless you just enjoy growing year round, I find the greenhouse int January and February is really hard and expensive. I use my greenhouse for a season extender.

Can't afford to heat much, a candle size paraffin flame under a terracotta pot keeps frost off. A copper pipe to the roof from the hole in the pot gets all the heat and stops there being too much condensation. Mostly it is filled with the not so hardy things in pots, like salvias and dahlias, but this year I am experimenting in the greenhouse I don't heat with a few tougher things in buckets, carrots, kale, chard and some onions so far.
