Get a large bag of potting soil , lay it out on the ground, open it up and start seeding right there in the bag. I saw this on Pinterest.

Great idea (y) Very practical actually. This could save a lot time to those people n a hurry or who don't feel like using several individual pots to do this.

That is a neat idea. Another thought would be to take the toilet paper holders and cut them in half and stick a ring around each seed. This would give a bit of a guide when you go to uproot the transplant!

Here in the UK we have grow-bag trays.
You could use this idea on a grow-bag tray in a greenhouse for early starts, then get someone to help carry it to transplanting position when ready!
No rootbound plants. No difficulty extracting plants from pots. Easy watering.
Top idea.
