It's another topic but butterflies and moths are surprising. Can they fly into the wind?
Yes, absolutely heading, following, and cross winds no problem.
... How do they know where their target plants are?
It is remarkable to watch...their ability to locate target plants involves a mix of vision, smell, and even taste.

Amazing. They are lighter than a feather.
I had a caper bush and one day the caperberry moth showed up. It laid 3,000 eggs and they were laid in a perfect square grid pattern. They were a shiny gold color, so small so perfectly aligned that they looked like part of a computer.
