Hi,

Thanks Ian; I should have taken the photo at midnight whilst the street lights were lit instead of midday.

Disregarding my photo I found it very difficult indeed to choose my favourite because all the photos are excellent. Well done everyone and good luck.

The theme this month was 'Winter.' Confused me for a moment there!!

@MaryMary Hi Mary, sorry to have taken so long to answer but I've been busy. It was pretty close to the middle of the day as that's about as high as the sun gets in midwinter.

The blue look on the snow was because I used a blue filter on part of the lens.

Nice touch! It makes me cold just looking at it!

Reminds me of how glaciers always look blue.

@MaryMary Yes, glaciers are fascinating places. I've visited a few in my time. They tend to look nice and pristine when they reach the sea but on the way there they are quite mucky as they pick up soil and rocks on the way.

They also sound quite ominous as the ice moves, expands and contracts and it's not particularly safe to get too close.

We haven't done Alaska yet. The ones above are in New Zealand and we've been to some in Chile.

Some are only accessible from the sea.
