Should I trim the top the tallest one to get it to branch out, or will it do that by itself?

Yes. And your pot is big enough that I would advise you to take something stiff and hard and poke it into the soil in that pot, no matter what root you are cutting through, and stuck the cutting into that hole.....Keep it watered for weeks and you will have a well rooted, nother one, to do something with. Or you will have a thicker pot of that plant.
