Cucumbers are one of my children's staple foods, they just love it, and would eat the cucumbers before anything else on their plates.

I started planting my own cucumbers this year. The only one's I seem to get right are the Crystal Apple. The others Japanese Long and Israeli, grows well but their fruits keep turning yellow.

Do you have any ideas or suggestions as to why they go yellow, and how to prevent this in future?

Here is a link to the Crystal Apple. It is one of the mildest and most delicious cucumbers I have ever eaten.

I actually sale crystal apple cucumber & their seeds. It is very prolific, I had so many cucumbers one year I had to give them away to the school bus driver and all my neighbors. Lemon cucumbers are good too!

I believe that turn yellow if you over water them. I am currently growing the ones they prefer to be made into pickles. I can't seem to remember what they are called, but it usually has to do with leaving them on the vine too long or you over watered them when they turn yellow.

Most plants will yellow if they are watered too much. This is why I never let my kids water my plants. I would love to pickle some cucumbers, but I am nervous of bacteria because I have never canned anything before. At some point I will have to get brave and try it though.
