Hi all
My first post. I have been building this project now for 2 years. I'm installing 5 ft welded woven fence with 4" wood post in all corners and H brace on both sides of each corner. I have spent 1000.00 in materials so far. That includes oak boards all the soil and 150 ft of fence. I have (3) 14' cattle panels and (2) 14 x 20 shade clothe and (6) 10' poles to hold them up. Also a 4' gate. My garden is only 30 x 25 now but am tearing down the green plastic fence and making it bigger. Have I spent way 2 much money for this design or is that typical

Welcome @Cadmandu . You appear to be doing a very good job and $1k sounds very efficient to me. Will be interested in seeing what you grow there.

Thanks for the response. I'm building a butterfly and pollinators garden as well. So the garden is also a small tree and flower nursery as well. Seedling and cutting propagation and lots of bare root trees and flowers.

Interesting. I'm two years into a new pollinator/butterfly garden and totally enjoying the results Butterflies have really grabbed my attention and especially enjoy identifying different species...although I'm not accomplished at it.

Please join in posting re your pollinator garden...would really enjoy seeing your butterflies there.

I've heard that Joe Pye weed is very effective at attracting butterflies, and I tried it last year, but the Texas heat did it in. 😥

That is a shame I'm in 7b middletown va
It gets in the 90s and my house and land has a western front porch and a eastern backyard. I have 5 acres with 2 in trees but my house sits on a 1.5 acre open area no shade trees. If you plant some butterfly bushes and lilac you can use them to shade your flowers from the afternoon sun
