I have a lemon tree (So.California) that is prolific even though I almost never feed it and only rarely even trim it. This year, I'm seeing some very strange shaped lemons. Lots of "doubles" and even more odd shapes. I don't see any evidence of pests on the leaves or fruit. Any ideas?

What you have is a classic example of what citrus mites do to fruit. They crawl into the flower/bud and start sucking the juices. Many times the flowers drop without setting fruit but at other times this happens. One should check their tree during blooming and fruit set for this and other problems and if found spray with appropriate fungicide or pesticide.
