I get to keep it on account that they can't take it off me by email :ninja:

That'd be a good way of getting the veg plot dug over @marlingardener :D

Found a few more bits and bobs yesterday :)

From the Museum small finds Lady about the Roman coin...

It now looks more like a denarius, but it is hard to identify it further. Bust facing right, laureate on the obverse and a standing male figure on the reverse. The obverse legend may include the letters NTO for Antoninus which could be one of several emperors from the 2nd to 3rd centuries.

My Daughter sent me a link about the same bloke @MaryMary :D
:ROFLMAO: :sneaky: Show it to your admin colleague on the other forum!!

Someone lost this nearly 2,000 years ago  It's not been on the beach that long, must have been eroded from the cliff above.
That is cool!! I would be at the base of that cliff after every rain from here on out!! (y)

 What are the things to the left and right of the nail clippers?

Good idea :D

Think the brass thinger might be part of some old munition, the Yanks and the Brit soldiers practiced for the D Day landings on the cliff here. I've also found a pistol cartridge, not the sort of thing you'd go shooting off while sunbathing. I've seen film footage of the cliff scaling practice somewhere, i'll see if I can find it.

Not sure what the other thinger is, noticed some numbers stamped into it, might be some sort of seal.

It reminded me of the brass cap from a shotgun shell, but I wasn't sure why it would be on a beach!

From looking at the top pic of the coin, are the edges ridged? I know they started that to stop people from shaving them to sell the shavings, but I didn't think they did that 2000 years ago!! o_O

There's a line round it from the die, but the edges aren't ridged. Surprized no one had it away with the overlapping bit.

Found the footage :)
