True, they don't store very well, I didn't have many this year but I have thought about caramelising them :)

How do you carmelise onions?
I know how to fry them, I add fried onions to most of my foods, because they're delicious:D

Zigs, did you finish moving house and getting ready to give your sprouts a home.?

Yep, went from a 3 bedroom house that I built myself to living in a 2 bed caravan, had to split the money left over with the soon to be ex mrs Ziggy.

Losing half is better than being beat half to death.

I divorced my firsr when my boys were both under three. His motto was all for fun, faithful to none!

waited for years to meet the next who then felt that wife beating would be a wonderful hobby.

coppers didn't know whether to charge him with assault or attempt murder. Bit messy.

you can always get more stuff, just keep true to yourself.

by the way I now have 9 grandchildren and I am happy. And grateful for my hobbies and curiosity.

nobody can take that joy away.

sorry for caps errors, this tablet is a pia!

So is Boxing Day a day to charitable to others?

It used to be, mainly confined to Boxing Day swims for charity now, where folk jump into the freezing sea to raise money

A Christmas box is an English expression for a Christmas present, usually from an employer too:)

You'd expect your Christmas box to contain some booze and maybe some cheese & buscuits.

I like the sounds of a Christmas box! It is amazing how much European and American culture are so different (and yet so much the same) when many of us Americans have European ancestry. I really enjoy looking at the way we interpret holidays and even the different ways we spell words.

Yep, especially if there's a bottle of Sherry in it :)

We got so much American TV now that we can understand you :D I hear Joey from Friends taught our Royal family a few new words last week

The Saxons had a similar problem when they invaded England, after a while the language changed, when they visited for trade they could still understand folk were talking about a cow for instance, just not how many cows :D

By the way, Buoy is pronounced Boy, not Booeey
