Dandelions are out today in all their glory. There is city ban on spraying so I took a small tour of the neighborhood and found obviously more than half are spraying,due to the absence of dandelions on their lawns. I took some pictures of a small local park and the grass is obliterated by the yellow flowers. I dug some from my lawn and made dandelion juice. I find the juice to be invigorating, sort of take up your bed a and walk. I will dig a large amount from the park and make few liters of juice.

I have had dandelion wine made in the Amana Colonies. It was good too!

Actually the spraying is a Ontario Provincial Regulation and it only bans certain chemicals for home use like Roundup, etc. The regulation is not enforced and it has so many holes as to be useless. https://www.ontario.ca/page/pesticides-home-lawns-and-gardens

I'm so glad I found this thread. It brought back memories of a poem my mother wrote many years ago.

My neighbors lawn is a carpet of green,
mine is much nicer, it has a golden sheen.

as a weed you just get stomped.
