Eight kale plants were placed in the outdoor garden at one foot spacing. The plants were purchased in flats and placed in separate pots to establish a strong root system in the greenhouse for about two weeks. The row was covered with wood chip mulch, which is my normal custom, to retain moisture.

I have yet to try the green variety, so finding out there is a red one forces me to add that one to my ''to try'' list
