I am trying to learn more about my garden zone (7a), and came upon an awesome detailed, lengthy list of a 'planting guide', but not really sure what it means.... does this show everything that is compatible with the climate I am located in? Would I still have to research when is best to plant them?
This is just a snippet of 9 pages of plants.

Yeah that looks about right for maryland; just varies very slightly per locality. Grow a load of basics that you will eat that's fast and as resilient as possible. If you're growing outdoors in natural light then yeah check the approx planting/harvest times on the seed packets or online. If it's indoors you can control/modify the conditions. Excess wet weather and cloudy skys are challenges for my garden. I've just got loads more peas, beans and decent strength spring onions going outdoors while there's still time. Also some oxheart carrots but they're for over winter.
