Yes, a mallow, of the Malvas family.

Thank you all for your contributions. It is indeed Mallow, but often mistaken for Hollyhock according to what I read, cpp gardener. :)

This seems to be a form of Zebra High Mallow (Malva sylvestris 'Zebrina'), which is an annual or short-lived perennial seed strain, quite phenotypically variable. However the plant in the OP is particularly exceptional with regards to its densly crinkled (rugose) leaves and full, deep purple flowers. I do hope seeds of this plant were saved.
