I have recently gotten myself a weedeater that is very light and fun to use. Typically I pull the weeds in my food garden… which is fenced in and actually has a sidewalk around it to keep out the Bermuda… But this would be much quicker. However, I have a combination of wooden and metal beds. The metal beds are a combination of Vego and Birdies. Does anyone have these and weedeat around them regularly? I would probably still hand pull some of the time but a few times in the summer I would like to be able to zip through quickly. I don’t know how that would do over time hitting the painted metal. It seems quite strong and able to take it, but I would hate to chip through and eventually have it start rusting. Just didn’t know if anyone had these and if they used a weedeater around them. I have a semi permeable membrane that keeps most of the weeds out of the walkways. This is just for the cracks near the beds.
