It's considered a weed here in jax, but I love it and so do the bees; I just let it naturally propagate.

Ours are blue/purple with yellow leaves. They are prolific here in our front yard in full high desert sun. We have to thin them occasionally. Interestingly, one at the end that is slightly shaded part of the day has green leaves.

One my business trips to Brazil, i saw loads of them.

Moses-in-the-Cradle (Tradescantia spathacea) is a most attractive species with dramatically two-toned leaves. The small white flowers are found nestled in the plant between spathe-like bracts. This floral arrangement suggests the fanciful resemblance to the plant's common name. The unusual bracts were also once considered distinctive enough to warrant placing the species in its own genus, as Rhoeo spathacea, but this name is now considered synonymous. The species is native to southern Mexico, Guatemala, and Belize.
