We had so much rain lately that I just noticed this Habenero plant. I am fairly sure it is to much nitrogen but don't know what happened since I only fertilized at planting in late May. Out of 45 hot pepper plants this is the only one with issues. I have (I think) a total of 3 Habenero plants. This one is the only one with issues.

I have seen this in tomatoes but never in a pepper plant.

What do you think?

5-10-5 synthetic garden food about 1/4 cup. Along with Jobes 3-5-5 1 cup. Other than them leaning over they all the look great.

Thanks,

I can taste synthetic nutrients in the vegetables. I don't use any kind of synthetic fertilizers outdoors ever, only organic sources.

That is impossible since the plant draws up the same ion of the nutrient no matter whether it is synthetic or organic.

^Yes

Synthetic is just available faster for the plant to absorb. The microbes needs to break down the organic fertilizer before the plant can actually use it.

Interesting point. The human eye is considered perfect because it can detect 1 photon of light. I can tell when I use sulfur as fertilizer. Magnesium too. Mainly in the tomatoes of course but the other veg get umami with it too.

If you use a 30-0-0 NPK in the garden you can taste it in the vegatables. Nitrogen fertilizers are supplied in three forms, ammonia, nitrate, and urea. Ammonia nitrogen will leave a taste in the vegs compared to nitrate nitrogen.

You sure its not the other compound rather than the N?

I've always believed it is never a good idea to apply your own urine to your garden/compost, for many reasons. Do you believe you could taste it?

I guarantee you cannot taste anything but sweet veggies from this cover of mixed Sunn Hemp and peas when turned into the soil and planted. Zero synthetics.

The truth is that almost all large crops all over the world use these fertilizers. Food has been grown to feed billions of people because of fertilizers. Without the use of fertilizer, the world would starve. Everything we get comes from the grocery stores are products of fertilizers. I'm not against the use of fertilizers. I used it a lot in greenhouse injecting systems as well as in other horticulture work.
