Hi,
I'm new and at my last tether. We have been in our property for a year + now and have a very big garden. Mostly we can maintain but have a massive area we are at a complete lost on what to do. We have 3 massive trees at the end of the garden as this was all woodland once. when we moved in you couldn't see the fences as they where so over grown. we've have had them cut back now. BUT this is where our problem is. the area under the trees was covered in ivory and the soil is full of ivory twine and roots. it's not level either. the area is 64sq meter in total. we have removed most of the surface ivory and had membrane down for a year just to try and kill it, .. I've tried racking it but its a waste of time as there is just to much... we want to turf the area but need advice on how to remove the underlying twine...

Ivory - Ivy?

Turf will always have problems under trees, even seeding with 'Shady places' can be problematic. I have cyclamen growing around the oak at the bottom of my garden, they were there when I came and had been neglected, but although there was some ivy and bramble growing among them their flat tubers seem to have no trouble dominating now I have cleared them out a bit.
