In my youth I bought them every week from the Post Office and stuck them in an album. They were expensive and all looked similar.

My husband collect antique snuff box stamps and stuff boxes. He has one of the most intense collection around. But as far as "regular" Post office stamps, nope.

King George V of Great Britain collected stamps. In 1893, as the Duke of York, he was elected Honorary Vice President of the Royal Philatellic Society. They presented him with an album, approximately 1,500 stamps, as a wedding present.

President Franklin Roosevelt of the United States was an avid stamp collector. His stamp collection contained about 1,250,000 stamps. He also designed several American commemorative stamps while he was the President.
