I have tried to plant corn for three years now and every time it develops weird gray blobs of fungus on it. what is this fungus and how do I get rid of it? as it is making my corn inedible and very ugly looking as well.

I'm no expert on this but I went to the Organic Gardening website and they talk about something call corn smut. It sounds and looks kind of gross and it might be what is causing you to have problems. Go to organicgardening.com, they have photos and information that might be of help to you.
Yep that is it and believe it or not this fungus is considered a delicacy. I guess I will keep it then

Glad that it was what you have and that you have found something useful for it! The Organic Gardening site is really a good website, I have found some really excellent info on it.

Make a tea of whole ground cornmeal and spray weekly. Works on all kinds of fungus and mildews. It will also cure atheletes foot and toenail fungus.
