These Pasque-flowers (Pulsatilla), in the Buttercup family (Ranunculaceae), are so beautiful. Which variety are they? Do you grow them in your garden?

I think Pulsatilla vulgaris.
I grow this in my garden. They don't grow in the woods near my country house, but they grow in the wild elsewhere.
Many plants are moving further and further away from people. Because beautiful plants become the object of barbaric collection for sale.
On the contrary, I collect seeds of endangered plants and plant these plants in the forest.
I have brought many plants back to nature.
Pulsatilla vulgaris grows well from fresh seeds, I already have young plants.

Pulsatilla have such a sublime presence. I've seen the Western Pasqueflower (Pulsatilla occidentalis) in the wild; high in the mountains of the Sierra Nevada in California. I should try to grow them from seed. I could stratify the seed in the refrigerator, if it doesn't get cold enough outside.

Yes, this is a very exciting activity.

The folk name for Pulsatilla here is sleep-herb. Or dream grass. Legend says that if someone puts a flower under a pillow, there will be a deep sleep that will show the future.

I always love plant legends.
