Hi

I have a front garden where the soil is majority clay and it can be shaddy

We tried planting an olive tree two years back but it never took and died.

Can Olive trees survive in clay soil - if not do you have any other ideas for what will look nice and is easy to manage (ie i havent got green fingers

We also have box hedging and unfortanetly suffer from box catapillers every year so hopefully can anyone suggest something which doesnt get eaten by these moths !

Hi @noidea,
I have olive trees growing in solid clay soil, but I suspect your problem is heat. They will withstand any amount of heat and drought but are not a cold climate plant.
