Someone gave us a bunch of half dead leek starts.
I planted them as I would onions. (about 4 weeks ago)
I just found out that I should have planted them 6-8" deep!
Any suggestions?
Thanks,
Mick

Don't know... Can I?
The reason leeks are planted so deep is to blanch them. It may not be too late to have them completely blanched as I have never planted mine shallow to find out. I think I would cover some of them just to see what happens. In any event your leeks will still be edible, they just won't be white as they should be. They will be more like a green onion.

I have piled up soil over green onions to blanch them. Leeks should do the same thing.

I have seen growers use tubes from paper towels and toilet paper rolls over them as well as being earthed up.

Not my pic just showing:
