Mystery Plant Growing in Grass

This plant has been growing for the better part of two months and has been spreading rapidly throughout my lawn. I do not know what it is or how to get rid of it / stop it from spreading.

That is a sucker from a nearby tree, probably Prunus of some sort.

yes, my plum an my quince both do this, I simply mo a bit more regularly before they get woody.
