Hello! First time planting and caring for a zucchini plant.
Just wondering if anyone knows how much to prune off a zucchini plant once the male flowers have shriveled up and fallen off, leaving just a stem. Should I cut it off to the base?

I've never cut off my male flowers stems on any cucurbit after they "pollinate" and fall off. Never heard of that.

If your talking about a ripen fruit, then about an 1" is fine. I usually just snap my yellow squash off the plant and it snaps off right at the fruit. No problem either that I've noticed.
