Lilly Pillys snapping

Hi there just wondering if anyone can help me figure out why my Lilly Pillies are growing really well but snapping. I have had 2 of the strongest growing ones snap on me with plenty of thickness and greenery in the leaves. They have been grown from about 20cm to about 1.5m and have now decided to break. Hope you can help!

There was some kind of injury to the bark and the plant was weakened where it broke. I would cut the plant flush to a main node so it will grow back. The plant couldn't support the weight and broke. Remember you can remove some weight by pruning every year.
