There's no need to close an account.
Just don't post any more and with any e-mails received, just choose,"block sender" move to spam and and delete

There may not be a need, but it was the specific question the OP asked, and it was completely ignored or avoided. Also it sends a message to those not doing their job, "You are losing accounts and if it goes on you won't be getting any advertising money." The advertisers don't know that half the accounts are not used, until they are closed he can still claim he has x number of accounts, if they are closed he can't ant he will start losing money, an incentive to do it properly.

It seems someone has cleaned out the porn, for which I am thankful, but wish it hadn't taken so long. Hopefully things will get back to normal and we can all enjoy gardening and discussing it.

I'm not disagreeing, but, It wouldn't bother me if I were unable to close any of my accounts in any message board to which I no longer post. I know of a few.

I don't see any adverts as I've an adblocker.
