I planted it in the spring and lost the ID tag. It did not bloom.

Those leaves remind me of our Spiraeas. Do you have any native plants in this family that you may have planted for colour and interest at this time of year? Late flowering plants are so useful for our insect friends.

Good point. I meant to ask OP if the white flowers were fragrant, as well. With climate change and the unusual heat waves and flooding the US has been experiencing, it wouldn't surprise me if bloom times were off. The OP's plant is showing red leaves, which is normal for autumn.

My pomegranate tree now has ripe fruit in November. The same tree whose fruits always and forever only ripened in late Dec- early Jan. Everything is a bit off now.
