Hi, I’m Maria, and I live in the tropics, more specifically Honduras. Everything grows here, maybe not to maturity, but vegetation certainly is abundant. There are also a lot of bugs, and they love to chow down on food plants.
I have a small, commercial hydroponic greenhouse. I grow lettuce, basil, and parsley. Pests and disease are the reason I got into hydroponics. In a greenhouse, the number of insects in greatly reduced and consequently the use of pesticides. I do use some fungicides, but I’m trying to go biological control.
I also have some native fruit trees and a few pest-resistant edibles in the garden.
