I have a small garden in my compound divided into two. I grows vegetables on one and the other is for flowers. I have tall trees surrounding the compound and I would love to know the best flower species to grow under the trees?

Hello there! Welcome to the forum! I hope you enjoy your stay here, and find everything you are looking for! As for the flowers... I think you have a lot different flowers to pick from! Have you thought of growing lilies? Lilies seem to do so well under shade. This was just one suggestion, I'm sure you will get more :D

Welcome to the forums, and greetings friend! It's always nice to meet another gardener. In addition to Kevin's post, I'd have to add these floral varieties:

Fuchsia are beautiful and grow well in shaded regions.

Also, if you like lighter colors you could try some Balsams, they grow in a wide range of shade:

They also self-seed, so it's likely they could resprout without much effort and you can enjoy the blossoms for years to come.

Welcome! We had visitors from Kenya a couple of years ago. The gentleman was teaching at Texas A&M and his car broke down near us. As he was getting the car fixed, we had a perfectly delightful visit with him, his father, and his nephew. One of the nicest afternoons we've ever spent!
I can attest to Solomon's Seal doing well in shade. Balsams are also a great small flower that gives a lot of color for its size. If you like herbs, mint tolerates shade, but please keep it in a pot or it will take over the yard!
