Hi all,

Hoping for some advice, so 2 kids (one a young toddler), no school. Garden today covered in hundreds off flies all over. Bit of research suggests likelihood flit flies.

Turf was newly laid on housing development a year last December. colour is mostly green, patchy in some areas.
Is there a safe means of getting rid of these that still allows the kids on the lawn?

I’ve not given the lawn first cut of the year yet but will do at the weekend

many thanks

After you cut the lawn the flies will leave and shouldn't be a problem. The important thing to remember is seasonal bugs are impermanent and they come in your yard due to conditions. Those conditions always change in two or three weeks and the bugs will be gone. Be patient.
