Do mini daffodils usually take longer to bloom?

I have mini daffodils in my garden that I have had for a few years. They come back healthy every year, but I noticed that they take longer to actually bloom then all of my neighbor's daffodils. My hyacinths are looking beautiful and my daffodils are still just the green stems with no buds on them yet. I really think they are a nice flower, but I was hoping to have flowers that would bloom closer together!

Anybody else have this happen? Maybe I should get some regular daffodils to add the yellow at the same time as my hyacinths. I have seen other people with full bloom minis too tho around town here so not sure why mine are not!

A lot can depend on the variety you are growing. Some are meant to bloom later than others. Check the bulb catalogues when they are sent out & they should note which ones are earlies & which are later. The amount of shelter & sunshine also has an effect.
The daffies growing on our road here are in colour on the south facing verge but the ones on the north facing verge are still in tight bud.

They do not get as much sun as my neighbors, I didn't think about that. I see so many of them around town that are in full color and yet mine are not even close. I bought them around Easter time a couple years ago and they were already in bloom when I bought them so I didn't buy them as a bulb.

I adore miniature daffodils! They're so pretty:

I remember I was growing some indoors 6 or 7 years ago...it wasn't a big success and my mother took them, I'm not sure what she did with them. Anyway, as far as remember, they bloomed rather quickly - so yours probably don't get enough sun.

I wonder if that is the problem. I still don't even see any buds, just the green shoots (not sure if that is the name.) The green sprouted right up, but no sign of flowers this year. I may have to find a better spot to put them in. Thought they had enough sun where they were, but they do not get full sunlight all day.

I can't believe my beautiful flowers show no hope of having any flowers! Are regular daffodils easier then the minis?

WOW!! Stunning photos of daffodils.
They are beautiful flowers! Mine never bloomed this year tho. Wonder if I could easily move them to another location without hurting them? But then again if they are not going to bloom I guess it is worth a try.

the answer here sweetie lies in your first statement, you said you have had them for a few years. When the bulbs get impacted in the soil, (made babies) they will bloom less and less. So you need to lift up the whole are of bulbs, and split them, re-plant them, apart, then next spring they will come up well. My minis are always one of the first to bloom. And this will not hurt them. you can move them in the green. Or mark the area, and fuss with it in October to lift and replant.
