Cornflower help

Hello. Can anyone help me identify what these marks are on my growing cornflower leaves please?

Leaf miners, it looks like to me. Just remove those leaves and spray the plant with water to remove any elsewhere.

Ah thank you, I've been trying to get a name for this for weeks now.

I've removed the leaves, there were lots of them affected

Going to clean and repot them into bigger pots, as there are lots of roots. The roots are very furry, is this normal?

I wouldn't give it a bigger pot since you removed leaves, unless there is no room at all inside that pot to add fresh soil. In other words, unless it's all roots and they are plastered to the sides of the pot.. Your roots are normal. You want a pot that just gives you an inch around the outside of the rootball for new soil.

I'm glad you said this, I bought 5 pots yesterday for them, big ones 23 cm. I thought they needed bigger pots to thrive. I'm new to gardening eek

I'll send you a pic of what the roots look like, I think I've over watering them, the leaves are getting quite limp on some of them.
