For quite some time I've had a concessionary O.A.P. pass for the buses and the tram.
I can't remember when I was last on a bus, (come to think of it, I can't remember when I last saw one). Same with the tram, not been on one for years. Though they do run frequently.
I did have a ride on it when they opened the extension to Manchester Airport, just out of curiosity. I parked up on my way home from golf at a nearby station and rode there and back.
Anyway Greater Manchester Transport sent me an e-mail today, teliing me if, "I'm not going to use the tram," it'll now cost me £10 a year to "not use it" as from 1st February. Although I can continue to not use (or find) a bus, free.
So I paid it, as you never know when you might need it.
