Can a tomato (or other) plant get more than one disease?

Just curious. I know people can, so wondered about veggie plants. I'm trying to learn to identify diseases and sometimes think...what if it has
more than one?

I reckon so, after all it is the disease agent that causes disease, not the plant, and if it has a disease it will be weakened and therefore more susceptible to something else as well.

But I never hear it talked about. I never see a post saying your plant has blah blah blah disease and also blah blah blah disease.
And I've never read about it.

Something else I wonder about is whether leaves look different at different stages of a disease and maybe that's at least
in part why I can never match my photo of a diseased tomato leaf to pics of diseased tomato plants/leaves online.

One example is if a plant gets too much water the odd leaf will start turning yellow. If not corrected and it's continued to be over watered the roots will rot, the fruit will rot, leaves will fall off, fungal and bacterial diseases will probably set in, insects will feast on the decaying flesh of the plant and it will die a horrific death lol. So usually, people correct a problem at the first sign of trouble to avoid the hellish chain reaction that will follow if they don't. :)

With that said, not all plant diseases can be cured. And sometimes it can be hard to tell if it's for the example I used turning yellow because of too much of something or not enough of something. So you have to question things like how much water does it need compared to what it's getting, what is in the soil, too much good stuff or not enough? Then after answering each possibility it can be narrowed down to exactly what the problem is.

But how do you prevent or correct a disease you can't even identify or name? With the exception of my squash, I've posted
a lot of pictures here and elsewhere in hopes of determining what disease my plant(s) are dealing with and not once have
I received a definitive response.

I know different plants -- perhaps in the same bed like mine are -- have different nutrition requirements. What I don't know is
how to figure out how much of those needs are being met in my soil. How do you do it?

Post the squash pics here and I'll have a look. I'm paranoid lately to reply to questions because I get in shit for using technology by some other members because I answer the question rather then debate it lol.

To the bottom question soil tests. Although I never get them. I've been growing in my gardens long enough to know what grows good in it and what doesn't. Till in lots of manure, compost and add stuff like bone meal to tomato plants for calcium when planting and you will be golden. I petty much stick to growing plants that require the same ph level so it's not a juggling game.

Pepper! I posted that ridiculous looking squash picture, you told me what was wrong with it, I checked it out, and you were
right! The only one right. You were the "exception". You're my squash hero!

Which really tweaked my lack of interest in AI.

You threw me off when you said you never get correct facts. Although I'm very stoned at the moment so maybe I didn't read it correctly lol. If you have a question to a concern about a problem in your garden I am happy to help using AI.

I'm gonna remember that. I'm waiting for AI to identify diseased plant photos.

No, wait. I know what you can ask it...him...her. Meadowlark gave me three cover crop seed ideas for my two raised beds with links to Amazon. But I'm a bargain hunter, and I found some on eBay that are cheaper. Like a lot cheaper. Problem is I don't know how much
seed I need for two raised 8' x 4' beds and 7, 7-gallon containers. The seeds are winter rye, outsidepride white dutch clover,
and crimson clover legume seed.

Maybe wait until you're not feeling as...good?

I won't bother because Meadowlark already replied to that on a different thread, just buying the $5 seed packs to cover 4x8. But something to keep in mind, seeds last a few years at least so if you are going to be doing a cover crop every year you might as well spend the $78 or whatever it was you mentioned and have plenty for further seasons rather than ordering little seed packs every year. That's what I would do, and no I'm not stoned at the moment lol 😂

I don't know if I'll do a cover crop every year. But I liked the idea behind it and wanted to try it. Then maybe I'll wish I'd bought 40 pounds. :)

If you are not sure then it's better to just get enough to try then and see if you decide to continue doing it every year. :)
