Broken stem Bird of Paradise

hi!
A few months ago I had to cut an unfurling leaf from my bird of paradise because the stem had broken. It has since grown another 4/5 inches but nothing has has happened. Should I trim it further or just leave it alone? Will a new leaf ever come through on this stalk??

Hello and welcome to GF
I think that it's best to leave it and see what happens. The in leaf might come through or it might shoot from the bottom.
