Dear Community,

My boyfriend just gave me his lovely indoor palm tree (we are beginner gardener level 0) and the door accidentally shut on its head… Its now broken and I am very sad. Could anyone advise me on what to do?
Should I try fixing the head back with some tape?
Or leave the head in water or soil hoping it will grow again?

Do you think the tree will survive?

Hello!
This Dracaena, unpretentious plant. It will perfectly live on. Probably. this will stimulate the development of lateral branches.

When I had the dracaena, I deliberately cut the top of the plant to make it more branches with leaves. A broken branch can give new roots in light soil and a mini - greenhouse. I would cut the long leaves halfway. :)

I hate to give you the bad news but you probably couldn't kill that thing if you tried. If you look toward the bottom you will see where it has been broken before and the two new branches came out. Now that it is damaged you can trim it to a length you like.
