It’s fall. They loose a few leaves in the fall. Nothing to worry about. It looks very healthy and with a little care you are going to have a great bonsai. Ficus are pretty much a tropical plant so you will probably have to increase your watering during the winter months. The relative humidity in your house is going to be low while you run your heat so a nice mist every couple of days will also help.
Now for the questions - does your pot have a drain hole? Do you know if it is in soil or bonsai medium? How have you been fertilizing it?
To answer your trimming question, you don’t have to trim now. It will probably grow very little over the winter.
May be Ficus retusa...Some Ficus loose leaves when moved...the answer to avoid this is to spray it down with water every day after a move for about a week....
