Am I watering my plant too much / too little?

I bought a flowering plant from M&S (not sure of the species), but am having trouble with the amount of watering. I currently water it every day with ~100ml of water, as even skipping one day would lead to the leaves drooping heavily (that volume is a lot compared to other plants I've had). Once I water it, the stems perk up immediately, so I didn't think it was over-watering. I've also tried repotting to a larger pot so the soil can hold more water but the situation hasn't improved. Recently, I've started getting small flies around the plant too, which I assume is due to the wet soil, but I can't cut back on watering at all or it'll droop. Does anyone have any advice?
