Gladiolus

A minister told me that in his yard there is a huge bunch of gladiolus leaves, Some leaves are extremely short and thin.
I explained that the corms have not been dug up in the fall, stored, and replanted the following spring.

How annoying, Louis. All the flowers she wanted but didn't get :)

Lifting them when they die down and replanting for next year is normal here. It may not be necessary in your climate, but it shouldn't harm them at all. If they are like the ones I grew you will find a whole bunch of tiny corms as well as the original ones, I kept missing a few and they kept coming back for two or three years, so you may be able to make up your numbers again.
