Can you help me figure out what sort of disease is affecting this apple tree and how can it be treated?

It looks like some kind of fungus, it could mean that the tree is dying, but couldn't be sure.

Are you talking about the small green patches? I can't tell what it is. Is it moss? Probably some sort of fungus growing from being wet and shady. It may go away after it warms up and sun comes out more. I'm not sure.

Not all fungi that live on the surface of a tree are pathogens (disease -causing).

Most of the fungi that grow on tree surfaces are harmless, aka saprophytes.

What symptoms of tree sickness have led you to believe your apple tree has a pathogenic fungus / a fungal disease?
